Guidance, Navigation, and Control Team Lead

For my AE 460 Senior Project at San Diego State University, myself and 6 other students designed a manned mission to Mars.

As the GNC Lead, I led the design of the attitude determination and control subsystem to meet the stated system requirements. I also derived the thrust energy-optimal guidance law for powered-descent to the Martian surface, simulated the powered-descent trajectory to the Martian surface, validated the interplanetary transfers generated in STK with a patched-conics analysis, assisted the mechanical design of the Martian Landing Module, and led development of the mission requirements, objectives, schedule, and budget.
